Hi Kiwi Burners;
I'm a fellow Burner from San Francisco and will be traveling around before attending the Burn.
I'm looking for a ride to the Burn from Taupo and I'm flexible with departure and return dates. I'm more than happy to share petrol costs, smiles, and Burning Man stories.
I'm traveling light with a backpack only. .
I can be reached via NZ mobile. 022-671- 7285
Happy Burn!
Branch (Rebecca)

Hello, lovelies
Renting a van costs about 150/day by looks of things, hoping to split sosts 3-4 ways. I have my own tent. Thinking of camping after the burn, returning in time for Levin Juggling Convention following weekend. Might be convinced to return to Wellie first depending on what everyone else is up to.

Soooooooo,
I need to go up the day before and will come back down on monday. I have a 'medium' amount of gear which means a small themecampsworth. This probably means hiring a vehicle of some description and splitting the costs. Anyone keen? Anyone lend me a car

OK. So I've booked a small car to go up Thursday and there's almost certainly *A* space but two may be pushing it. Heh. Because Burners never push it, right?
Vicky knows, Seth knows (but is coming in early Friday AM) and since I'm coming from Welly then picking up Branch from Taupo is not exactly rocket science. SO probably the best plan is for me to fetch Branch the Vicky and Seth can share a ride. Easy.
I'll send off some communique's and see if this works for everyone else... |

i can offer a ride from welly to ham on saturday 23rd, that is this saturday, and am going down from ham to kb on thursday 28th.
i will be driving a van that i have only had for a week. it will be not a fast trip. i am trusting that it will make the journey ok.
there is not a huge amount of space for luggage, as i am taking a lot of my own stuff plus someone else's, and the back of the van is mostly seats. but a pack and supplies etc would be ok. would not expect full halves/shares on fuel as I am going up anyway and will be towing a trailer, but extra weight really does mean extra cost so a contribution would be good.
cannot guarantee return journey. will be camping for some days after and may stop at juggling festival following weekend. |

Hey all,
I'm another one looking for a ride there and back,
Unfortantely I have to run a tight-ish trip with all these Wellingtonians not being able to survive without me for too long.
So looking to leave sometime from the afternoon on Thursday and come back anytime on the Monday.
Can provide ride costs, delicious treats and even some tent space if someone needs shelter.
Peace and Love,
Caleb |

RantyDave, above, is leaving Thursday (morning, I think) and still has a space available. I am leaving Friday morning 8.30am-ish and have Nicky (above) and one other in the car, so we can fit one more in if you don't have a huge amount of stuff. It's a rental and I calculate the shared cost of car+petrol at about $75 each if there are 4 of us. We'll be coming back sometime Monday (RantyDave may or may not be staying longer).

Well, I've had ride plans fall through. I would *love* a ride to Mangakino, can contribute to petrol, and might be able to send some of my stuff up with friends.
I can squeeze into small spaces and have stuff on my lap! And drive if someone who's had their full license for 2+ years sits next to me. Cheers!
P.S. I'm going to call round myself, but don't suppose anyone has room for even more pegasol?!?!
