Mark Stirling, aka Yonderman, resigned from his role as one of New Zealand’s Regional Contacts (RC) this week. Mark founded Kiwiburn in 2003 after discovering Burning Man by accident in 1994, and has been involved ever since. He was our first RC and served on the Executive Committee at various times, making him Kiwiburn’s longest serving volunteer!

Kiwiburn thanks you for all your time and energy, your dedication and belief in this community, for all the support, friendship and encouragement, and for everything you brought to the various Paddocks over the years.

In a tribute to Mark, Meghan Rutigliano, Burning Man’s Associate Director of the Regional Network, says; “The impact of work around kickstarting and stewarding the Kiwiburn and New Zealand communities cannot be overstated. You really have given a huge gift…”

New Zealand’s Burner family is eternally grateful for Mark’s gift. Kiwiburn is the longest-running Burning Man international Regional event. Read more about how Kiwiburn was founded here.
