DESCRIPTION:The Hunterville Huntaway Festival\n\n\n\n\nHOME OF THE SHEPHERDS’ SHEMOZZLE™\n\nHunterville Huntaway Festival (first run in 1998) was thought up at the local pub by some local folk – Tony Theed\, Richard Horrocks and Thomas Powell.  They suggested a run like the Cardronna Shepherds run in South Island but it was quickly pointed out we don’t have a mountain\, but we do have a steep hill.  The event evolved from there and since then the country styled event has continued to grow and grow into what it is today and it is the only event of its kind in the North Island – it is trademarked so no one else is permitted to use our name or style.  It attracts between 4000 – 5000 visitors to our Festival every year.  A family day filled with lots of entertainment and fun. \nYou wont want to miss it with every age group covered. \nFor the young children we have various attractions such as face painting\, magic show as well as a bouncy castle. \nChildren’s Shemozzle for ages 9 – 13 years old\, has capacity for 200 competitors and entries sell out well in advance every year.  Compete for your school as well in a team for the Interschool Challenge.  Prizes for first\, second and third over the line. \nOur Teen’s Shemozzle\, designed for ages 13 – 18\, was held for the first time in 2013. As gruelling as the Shepherds race but no dog required. Spaces available for 200 competitors but be in quick to secure your place in this race! Prizes for first\, second and third over the line.  Team up with school mates to form an Interschool team or enter your Teen Ag Club. \nThe Shepherd’s Shemozzle is the main race of the day\, where competitors do the full course with their Huntaway by their side and the first across the line with all the requirements of the race met\, will win the prestigious title for the year as well as valuable top prizes.  A race not to be missed! \nIf you’ve got courage\, stamina and the mental ability to do any of the Shemozzle races\, entries open August 1st and can be done online from this website. \nAll competitors to attend the race will receive a ‘doggie bag’ full of goodies and a Shemozzle t-shirt. \nAfter the Shemozzle races we have the Shearing Contractors Challenge in the marquee. A not to be missed speed shearing event. \nWe also have fantastic shops in Hunterville perfect\, for a spot of Christmas shopping\, food stalls\, craft stalls and to finish the day off we have a marquee\, bar and band for the evening. \nWe hope to see you there!

DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday I will bring a laser engraver (Eleksmaker A3 2500mW) and a few laptops to the Auckland Burners’ space. Come have a play! \nThis thing can engrave on thick materials such as plywood and cut through thin paper. It can also set things on fire and damage your sight\, so come to me for a quick safety brief before you approach the engraver – I will make sure I am easily recognisable by wearing the most ridiculous hat. \nBring your own design and material if you can\, and keep your design relatively small\, so everyone can have a go and leave with something pretty. \n$10 or $20 Koha donation super appreciated (it all goes to the Auckland Burners’ Space)\, and if you are keen to help me set up during the day\, pm this guy : Jean-Baptiste Natali Ginoux \nCheers\,\nBaptiste

Melburners is 100% run by volunteers and are just helping facilitate the event that YOU want to run. DESCRIPTION:The MicroBurn is a not-for-profit event born in the North West of England and is inspired by our experiences at Burning Man and other related events. The event is organised by members of our nationwide Burner Community and it will again be hosted on a beautiful family-owned eco farm in Powys\, Mid-Wales. \nYou are invited to join us in co-creating something magical in the Welsh hills. We’re super excited to be presenting further opportunities for Burners and those interested in the culture to gather\, create\, dance\, hug\, laugh\, sing and dance some more. \nOf course\, this is a BURN EVENT – which means we’re here to practice the principles of Burning Man (“Say what?” you say? Here: http://microburn.org/core-principles) so most importantly for us that means: \n1) YOU are the event. What you bring is what you get. Bring your art. Bring your style. Bring your love and share it around. Participation is the name of the game and YOU ARE IT. We are a fully functioning event and there are many tasks to be completed so that the wheels don’t fall off. Wanna do something? Get involved! \n2) This is a LEAVE NO TRACE event. Everything you bring\, you take it back with you. If you see trash or something that’s out of place lying around\, pick it up and put it where it belongs. Let’s leave the farm as shiny and delightful as we find it. We LOVE the Farm and if something is going to damage the environment there\, please don’t bring it. \n3) EVERYONE pays for a ticket. Including the organisers. This is because we are not a commercial event. Everyone is a volunteer – no one profits from The MicroBurn. Have you got an idea for an artwork that everyone can enjoy? Do you need help with covering the costs? Art Grants will be available – watch this space for further announcements! \n____ \nLOCATION \nThe MicroBurn is nestled in the Welsh hills on a glorious eco farm. This is working Farm with live animals\, so be mindful of this during your stay. Please use the recycling facilities provided and only bring what you need. \nWhat’s there? The Farm site has a working kitchen\, toilets\, various indoor and outdoor spaces\, camping fields and some limited space for campervans. \nThe farm owners have requested that we do not publicise the venue location. Information on the precise location and directions will be shared with ticket holders closer to the event. \nWhen travelling to the MicroBurn we would like to encourage you to ride share where possible\, use public transport (the nearest train station is Caersws) and if the demand is high\, we can look into organising a MicroBurn Bus for all you revellers. \n____ \nThank you for reading\, this page will be updated regularly with event information.
