DESCRIPTION:On the Solstice\, Lōemis Festival invite you to join in a parade to accompany their Winter beast\, Somnium\, down to the Wellington Lagoon where it will be floated out onto the water and set on fire in a ritual that will release the beast’s belly full of dark dreams…  \nThe details:\nThe parade starts at 5.30pm outside the Wellington Museum. Paraders are encouraged to dress up. We will be accompanied by a band as we parade Somnium to the Waterfront.\nThe burning on Wellington Lagoon will start at approx. 6pm.\nTe Wharewaka will be open so that you can purchase hot drinks and food to watch the flames by. \nAbout Somnium:\nSomnium is a Winter beast created for Lōemis Festival by artist Leda Farrow. Somnium feeds off your darkest dreams – his belly is open and hungry. You can visit Somnium at Wellington Museum’s Flux Space until 14 June. You will find the space equipped with writing desks to suit all personality types so that you can put your darkest dreams onto paper and then post it into Somnium’s belly. Civic institutions sprang up\, quarried from the mountains of effort that surrounded their little community. But still the Bug plagued the town. Each year she would return stronger than the last\, spreading the seeds of creativity anew and keeping a watchful eye over the town. \nEventually they turned to celebration – the citizens came to understand that the Bug’s arrival heralded another healthy harvest: They sowed ideas\, they fertilised with love\, and they reaped the reward of art\, self-expression\, and the sheer joy of immediate experience. \nNow the town was a city\, thronged with artisans dedicated to their task. DESCRIPTION:The MicroBurn is a not-for-profit event born in the North West of England and is inspired by our experiences at Burning Man and other related events. The event is organised by members of our nationwide Burner Community and it will again be hosted on a beautiful family-owned eco farm in Powys\, Mid-Wales. \nYou are invited to join us in co-creating something magical in the Welsh hills. We’re super excited to be presenting further opportunities for Burners and those interested in the culture to gather\, create\, dance\, hug\, laugh\, sing and dance some more. \nOf course\, this is a BURN EVENT – which means we’re here to practice the principles of Burning Man (“Say what?” you say? Music\, art\, friendship and love\, right in the middle of Melbourne. \nThis is a kid friendly event. All attendees must have a ticket. \nThis event is put on by YOU. Melburners is 100% run by volunteers and are just helping facilitate the event that YOU want to run. So if there’s something you want to do\, we strongly encourage you to reach out to us and we’ll do what we can to help make it happen.  \nWe will need lots of help leading up to and on the day\, so please keep an eye out and put your hand up when you can.  \nThis Burning Seed Dcompression is a LNT event. DESCRIPTION:On Tuesday I will bring a laser engraver (Eleksmaker A3 2500mW) and a few laptops to the Auckland Burners’ space. Come have a play! \nThis thing can engrave on thick materials such as plywood and cut through thin paper. After a week of hosting at Kiwiburn we are hosting a fundraiser event to recoup some of the costs of Barrio Del Chur and our incredible wellness/workshop/tantra space – Centre for Change. \nMany of us find it hard to decompress into the default world after living in the gift economy. A decompression style event is the bridge between these two worlds. DESCRIPTION:Enter the Multiverse at Southern Smoulder. Enter into a land of infinite potential. Expand your horizons and break free from the idea that there is only a single reality to explore. Come to the land where anything can happen\, let your imagination run wild! \nSet in beautiful native New Zealand bush on the West Coast\,\nSouthern Smoulder is an epic 3 day party based on the 10 principles of Burning Man (click see more to unlock the secrets of this universe)\n​\nIt runs from the 9th to the 12th of March 2018\, three nights of bonfires\, music and art. We will open a door into the multiverse\, but it is up to you to choose what lies inside.\n​\nJoin us and help to co-create this festival; bring yourself\, your friends\, everything you need to survive\, and something awesome to contribute to the community. This might be an art installation\, sound zone\, performance\, food and drinks\, or whatever else you can imagine. If you see something that looks hazardous\, report it. If you see inappropriate behavior occurring\, say something and stop it. We all look after one another.\n​\n– Leave No Trace –\nThis is simple; you pack out what you packed in\, leaving the site spotless behind you. We aim to leave no MOOP (matter out of place) behind- this includes cigarette butts\, feathers\, glitter\, glow-sticks\, tent pegs\, empty cans and bottles etc.\nPlease clean up after yourselves and others.\n​\n– Gifting – & – Decommodification –\nThese two principles link together to create a unique and radical environment. No money is exchanged on site\, everything is given freely and unconditionally. We reject commercial sponsorships\, transactions and advertising. Everyone brings something to share with others\, and gift-giving is a vital part of the Burning Man culture.\n​\n– Participation –\nThere are no spectators at a burn\, only participants. You are invited and encouraged to work\, play and co-create the festival alongside us. We achieve being by doing- and through deeply radical and personal participation we can transform both ourselves and the world.\n​\n– Immediacy –\nThink it\, feel it – do it. The time is now\, and the now is all there is. No words can substitute for this experience\, and it is one of the touchstones of the Burning Man events worldwide.\n​\n– Radical Self Expression –\nWe offer ourselves as gifts to the community; using our unique gifts and personalities to share something truly special with others. Bring your wackyist costume\, your most exciting talent\, and do whatever you want (but please respect the rights and liberties of others so everyone can enjoy their experience)\n​\n– Radical Self Reliance –\nBring what you need to survive! At Burning Man that means all the water and food you need to survive a week in the desert; at Southern Smoulder we recommend a torch\, sturdy footwear\, warm and wet weather clothes\, insect repellent\, sunscreen\, a sealable ashtray if you’re a smoker\, and anything else you’ll need for a weekend of partying.\nUse your inner resources – come prepared.\n​\n– Radical Inclusion-\nAnyone is invited to join the community – our arms are open wide.
