SUMMARY:Modifyre 2017: Once Upon A Time
DESCRIPTION:Let us take you on a journey – a journey to a faraway land where creativity and community reign above all else\, a place where a gift is priceless and money worthless\, a place where people want for nothing\, because everyone brings something. \nOnce upon a time in this place there was a village\, its foundation made entirely of dreams. At the heart of the village there was a Bug. Although the villagers tried to resist\, the Bug infected every one of them – their attempts to burn her only spread the Bug further\, planting a seed in the hearts of all who witnessed it. \nBefore long the village grew into a town\, and dreams gave way to reality. Civic institutions sprang up\, quarried from the mountains of effort that surrounded their little community. But still the Bug plagued the town. Each year she would return stronger than the last\, spreading the seeds of creativity anew and keeping a watchful eye over the town. \nEventually they turned to celebration – the citizens came to understand that the Bug’s arrival heralded another healthy harvest: They sowed ideas\, they fertilised with love\, and they reaped the reward of art\, self-expression\, and the sheer joy of immediate experience. \nNow the town was a city\, thronged with artisans dedicated to their task. A place of culture and renown\, her influence felt far an wide. The citizens\, proud of their name\, stopped at nothing to spread their culture\, and their queen – The Bug – well she just kept on burning. \n  \nTickets: http://www.modifyre.org/tickets

SUMMARY:Auckland Decompression: War of the Worlds
DESCRIPTION:The Robots came and left a path of destruction and mayhem behind them! What’s next? Auckland Burners are hosting a Decompression party that may incite panic! \nAt midnight on 28 January\, a huge mass of luminous gas erupted from Mars and sped towards Mt Eden. Across two hundred million miles of void\, invisibly hurtling towards us\, came the first of the missiles that were to bring so much calamity to Earth. \n“The chances of anything coming from Mars are a million to one – but they still come!” \nTHEME: The War of the Worlds – Earth is being invaded by aliens from Mars! Will you join the human resistance or the alien invasion? \nCOSTUME: You don’t have to be in theme (but it’s more fun if you are!) so please make an effort. No effort\, no entry 😉 \nART: The Giant Weta will be making its first appearance in Auckland City! This is a great chance to show your friends and family the awesomeness we create for Kiwiburn. \nRENEGADE: The evening will begin with a Renegade Show\, this is basically an open mic. Do you have a song\, circus act\, poem\, sideshow act\, story\, or something so far out you’re not quite sure the world is ready to see it yet\, bring it along! We can’t wait to see what you have to offer! \nDANCE OFF: As you arrive at the event you will be asked if you are part of the human resistance or the alien invasion. At some point during the night we will play an epic remix of the War of Worlds and both sides will dance off to see who will conquer the world! You will win points for your side with ridiculousness\, coordination\, and uniqueness\, so get thinking about your dance moves. \nWant to bring/perform something? Get in touch – auckland.burners@gmail.com. \nCONSENT CLUB: Consent Club will be back – more details coming soon. \nTICKETS: This is a ticketed event with NO door sales! Get your tickets now and tell your friends to do the same. \nThere will be strictly NO ENTRY after 3am – please turn up before this time. \nThis is a LEAVE NO TRACE event\, and NO glass bottles! Take your recycling home with you. https://kiwiburn.com/about/guiding-principles/\nThis event will benefit The Giant Weta which is hoping to (finally) pay for itself!

SUMMARY:Wilderland Rising: A fire recovery fundraiser gig
DESCRIPTION:Wilderland Sustainable Community’s Fire Recovery Fundraiser: An evening of music\, dance\, good food and community vibes\, coming to you live from Grey Lynn\, Auckland\, Friday 24 Feb. Come celebrate sustainable living and support the rebuilding of Coromandel community\, Wilderland\, a precious treasure-piece of NZ severely hit by fires last month. We’re excited to make supporting Wilderland fun by offering you an evening of sweet music\, kapai kai\, delicious chai and good people.  \nAll you need to do is grab a friend or two and come shake your tail feathers with us this coming Friday night in Grey Lynn\, Auckland.  \nFeaturing Live music from: \nTamani\nPhil Toms’ Deep State Ensemble\nDylan Wade\nAiden Kelly Project\nStop the System\nThe Free Wind \n+ more..!\n—–\nLive Music\nOrganic Food\nDelicious chai + other drinks for sale\nCommunity vibes and fun people\nArt raffle\n—– \n$15 – waged\n$10 – unwaged\nKoha for kids \nFriday 24 February at Grey Lynn RSC \nSo\, what’s this all about? \nThis is a fundraising gig to save one of New Zealand’s most-celebrated sustainable living communities\, home to many and a community for hundreds of people across the world\, travellers and families alike.  \nLast month raging\, out-of-control bushfires in the Coromandel Peninsula devastated this beautiful and iconic community\, one of New Zealand’s longest-standing eco-communities and destroyed several building structures\, a workshop and acres of pristine bush\, orchards and gardens. Wilderlanders are a determined bunch and aim to re-build what was lost\, including their precious workshop space filled with tools and their honey-house\, but they will need our help.  \nWilderlanders have been growing organic veges and fruit since the 60’s\, nourishing the many who have lived and visited over the last fifty years. This 60 hectares of beautiful land is home to scrubland\, gardens\, orchards\, beehives\, tipis\, houses and\, most importantly\, people. \nSo\, it is our great pleasure to announce our upcoming Wilderland fundraiser gig\, with brilliant live acts\, led by Auckland drumming and dance extravaganza Tamani\, who will get your booty shaking and your ears quaking. Tamani have been blowing socks off across New Zealand this festival season and they will be supported by funk-punk-folk band Stop the System (originally formed in Wilderland and famed for their quirky costumes and on-set banter and live poetry). Solo performer Aiden Kelly will be performing a sweet-voiced set to warm up our ears\, with other acts in the pipeline. There’s going to be a sweet raffle (of course) with things that you actually want to win; there’s going to be delicious kai for sale\, and chai for drinkies\, made by our very own Chai Wallah\, Josh Mainwaring.  \nWilderland is a garden that grows people as well as food and this gig is for anyone who has ever been touched by its ethos of healthy and sustainable co-existence with our planet; for anyone who has had their life transformed while learning to grow their own food; been welcomed as a guest with true and wholesome Wilderland hospitality; eaten the sweet\, sweet Manuka honey Wilderland is famous for; climbed plum trees in the orchard; harvested avocados; or simply just cared about living on the kind of planet where communities like Wilderland exist.  \nWilderland is more than a place; it is an idea. Founded on a vision of harmonious living with the earth and put into practice by community driven sustainability practices\, Wilderland inspires us in our living; through growing our own food\, through building healthy\, resilient communities with the people around us and through dedicating our lives\, in whatever way that is\, to living a connected life that honours the earth and each-other.  \nWe’d love to see you there\, having a dance and supporting this awesome cause with your heart\, presence and funding. Bring your loves\, your friends\, your kids and yourself and let’s dance up a storm as we celebrate one of our favourite places in NZ. \n— A raffle will be held with a collection of beautiful art and pottery up for grabs\, kindly donated by local potters and artists; so bring a few coins along—-

SUMMARY:Dimension
DESCRIPTION:Phat Productions invites you to join us for our annual psychedelic trance festival nestled in the hills of sunny Northland.   \nWith 3 nights of ‘having it’ psytrance played through our mighty Opus Soundsystem\, it will be an elevated experience like no other next Waitangi weekend!\n\nAUTHENTIC PSYTRANCE\nMusic is the cornerstone of the Dimension experience. For each night of the festival\, expect to be delivered to all new heights and depths by our authentic lineup of top-class international psytrance acts\, including special guest DJs (to be announced). Nothing will be held back during these transcendent all-night sessions\, so expect to be pushed to the absolute outer limits of consciousness and fun.\nFor the afternoon\, we will drop the tempo so you can chill\, swim\, connect\, and generally recharge for the next BIG night ahead. \nINCREDIBLE SOUND QUALITY WITH THE OPUS\nSound quality is a crucial component of delivering and maintaining a peak musical experience. The sound creates the vibe of the event. We have invested in what is fundamentally the best audio chain on the planet—the only 15kw Opus Audio Soundsystem with custom digital-to-analogue conversion currently being used at a festival globally.\nWords cannot actually describe the combined clarity and power of our custom Opus rig. Those who have attended a Phat Productions party know that it must be heard (and felt) to be truly understood. So come let our amazing sound wash over you and envelope your being for 3 nights! \nSPECTACULAR HD VISUALS\nVisuals build from the music to set the scene for any genuine trance experience. We look forward to unveiling some special new visual surprises this year\, so expect to be wowed the second night! \nALTERNATIVE SOUND CAMPS\nAs a new feature this year\, we will be allowing crews to add to the vibe by bringing their own smaller sound systems for our Sound Camp area. This will be by application only\, so let us know if you might like to provide an alternative for ravers to enjoy. We will be giving more details and opening applications on 1st May 2016. \nBEAUTIFUL SITE WITH STUNNING RIVER\nOur chosen site is just 3 hours from Auckland\, and allows us to blast the Opus at full power 24×7. Not only can we make plenty of noise\, but imagine a pristine river meandering past the dancefloor with multiple swimming holes.\nEveryone that came last year was absolutely blown away by the location\, and we know that you will be too. It is well worth the distance to party amongst such fantastic natural beauty for days and nights on end! \nPSYCHEDELIC ART INSTALLATIONS\nNo authentic psychedelic event is complete without droves of crazy hanging UV art\, so expect plenty of such bliss at Dimension . . . as well as a few trippy creative expressions beyond what you have probably ever seen before. \nPLUS\n– Dimension is BYO This year\n– Your Ticket Price Includes FREE Camping\n– Food and water / non alcoholic drinks will be available on site

DESCRIPTION:Join Filmmaker and Photographer Jonathan Clark as he takes you on a journey\, photo documented over the last nine years\, into the centre of Burning Man.\nFounded on principles that embody “Radical Creativity” and “Radical Self Reliance” the Burning Man serves a purpose of stripping down the ‘self’ withing the harsh environment of the desert (the playa) and rebuilds a new sense of being by instilling new perceptions: community\, participation\, creativity and respect of the environment. \nThere are a limited selection of postcards sets and signed fine art prints of Burning Man. They are one offs and will not be available after the event. All for $20 each cash. \nhttp://jonathan-clark.com
