DESCRIPTION:The Midburn event is the official regional event organized by the Midburn community – the Israeli Burning Man community. For 5 days\, a temporary city is set up in the Negev desert\, creating a platform which will allow a communal life style\, creativity\, art and radical self-expression. \nThe Midburn event is not your usual festival\, with big acts booked to play on massive stages. In fact\, it’s more of a city than a festival\, wherein almost everything that happens is created entirely by its citizens\, who are active participants in the event. \nThe first Midburn took place in 2014\, after about 2 years of building the community and a number of small-scale yet impressive unofficial events. Midburn 2014’s population was 3\,000. As with last month we will host workshops for those interested in learning staff\, poi\, hoop\, and all other things. We’re also looking at having grants to help fund your amazing ideas. Kiwiburn is a DO-ocracy and we also need help with decor\, door\, setup\, strike and leave no trace. DESCRIPTION:We’re back for another great night in Albert Park. From 5pm workshops will be running: Poi\, Staff\, Sword\, SoundPlay\, TheatrePlay\, AcroYoga. There will be scheduled 30minute Zumba\, DanceSpace and Laughter Yoga sessions from 4pm\, with a schedule announced closer to the time. \nAs the sun sets our fire show will commence with our local legend fire performers. There’ll be an opportunity for those who dare to come try fire dancing for the first time. \nSock Poi will be available for purchase for $20\, and we’ll have limited sets of LED poi available for $60 (cash only). \nA $5 koha is appreciated to cover the running costs of this event. \nThis is an alcohol-free\, family friendly event run by Emote Community Trust. Bring your picnic blankets\, refreshements and friends.
