The sustainability team are a wonderful lot, they are doing their best to help us all reduce our emissions. They’ve given us some useful info to relay to you. So read on below!
Getting to and from Kiwiburn is a big source of emissions
While walking or cycling are a couple of very low emission options, this isn’t practical for everyone! If you need to use a vehicle, there are a couple of simple things you can do to help reduce your footprint
Rideshare
If you’ve been lucky enough to get a ticket for KB2024:
- We have a rideshare matchmaking service available from December onwards
- If you’re planning to travel by car, and don’t currently have a travel buddy, you will be able to offer to share your car, or look for a ride in someone else’s car
- We will then help match you up with someone, and you’ll have a new buddy to travel with – super simple!
- Last year only had around 30% solo drivers – but keen to do more to reduce further
- If half of this years solo drivers paired up, we’d have reduced our overall emissions by 9%
Water onsite:
- By reducing the weight in your vehicle, you can reduce your emissions!
- To help this, last burn we had water available onsite
- By not taking water with you, you can reduce the weight of your stuff, which means less emissions
