A huge thank you to Chloe who left her role as Services Facilitator a wee while ago. While the department has been handed over in the smoothest succession transition yet (look out for the intro of the new facilitator coming soon), we still very much miss Chloe’s wit, quiet dedication and the ability to admire her increasing tattoo art.
Choe is never the loudest, but when she has something to say, you better listen. Aside from being bloody smart, her sense of humour and huge knowledge on wonderfully niche things always added to any conversation. The Services department, which includes Chloe’s beloved gate goblins, greeters, ticketing, parking and traffic, became a well-honed group of volunteers with better processes, more streamlined approach and a more tightly operating group in general under her almost 3.5 year leadership. She truly cared about every single individual in her team, and still does. On site, she rarely stopped, could not escape duties even dressed as a bovine, while also heavily involved in her Theme Camp or honing her DJ skills. The Department of Propaganda considers her an honorary member too, and we know she still lurks about in our hallowed virtual halls, long may it continue! And her legacy lives on as ticket allocations have been decided months ahead of schedule this year, something Chloe was instrumental in and passionate in driving forward!
Chloe has decided to throw her weight behind that other burn-adjacent festival held closer to Auckland and even has gone back to school for it. They are quite lucky to have her, as she never really stops, but we reckon that crew is only too aware of the gem she is.
Thank you Chloe, always in our hearts, never a stranger and probably not far from Kiwiburn ever either. We know you will be back, maybe as part of a dinosaur herd. Hear hear!
