“Immediate experience is, in many ways, the most important touchstone of value in our culture. We seek to overcome barriers that stand between us and a recognition of our inner selves, appreciation of the reality of those around us, participation in society, and contact with a natural world exceeding human powers. No idea can substitute for this experience.”
However you burn, wherever you burn, Immediacy is the guiding principle that manifests itself as people coming together to create a temporary community.
Practising immediacy means listening to yourself and being true to the moment. Leap on the “hell yeahs” – take the shibari workshop, join the conga-line as it passes your tent, taste the deadly spicy curry. And then, respect your beautiful power to say “hell no!” – take a moment out, chill in a quiet space, embrace the JOMO not the FOMO. Trust your feelings, live your best Paddock life, be present – that’s Immediacy.
