Kiwiburn Inc has a new Chairperson, Jasmine Hunter, who is the ninth member of the Executive Committee (ExCom). She tells us a little about herself:
“I attended my first Kiwiburn in 2012 with my 10 month old daughter, and have returned every year since. I started volunteering at Kiwiburn in 2014 on Gate, becoming Gate Lead for the 2016–2018 events.
My volunteer work has also included Site Manager shifts, being involved with the transition to our new ticketing service provider, Quicket, and assisting with pre-event Operations planning, an area of interest I am moving into onsite. The Chairperson position is my latest challenge and I am looking forward to being more involved at an organisational level, in a role which I am able to apply both my work and life skills and knowledge to.
When I’m not working on the Paddock, you’ll find me enjoying live music, wandering around the art installations or in the forest. Though my favourite thing to do is wander without a plan or intention and stumble across the unexpected.
Outside of Kiwiburn, I live in the beautiful community of Raglan with my daughter and another Kiwiburner. I would love to see participants who haven’t volunteered at Kiwiburn before give it a go. Not only do we need you in order to make it happen but you’ll discover a whole new rewarding and social side to your Kiwiburn experience while learning new skills.”
Thanks Jasmine, it’s great to have you guiding us!
