WHEN: Thursday 15 January at 8pm
This hui is open to anyone thinking about running an R18 space — whether that’s a dedicated camp, a one-off workshop, a temporary activation, or even if you’re simply curious or concerned about how R18 spaces operate within the wider Kiwiburn community. You don’t need to be an R18 camp lead to attend; this conversation is for anyone who wants to help these spaces exist safely and responsibly on the paddock.
This session is a shared alignment conversation for people involved in, or affected by, sex-positive R18 camps and workshops at Kiwiburn. We’ll focus on how we collectively hold these spaces in ways that are safe, thoughtful, and grounded in the realities of this paddock we build together. It’s about learning from what already works, naming where things can get wobbly, and strengthening our shared approach.
Together we’ll explore topics such as shared ground across R18 spaces, signage and thresholds, roles that support safety and consent, power dynamics, neurodivergence, and what to do when things don’t go to plan — including escalation within camps, workshops, and across the wider paddock. The aim is to leave with a clearer, shared understanding of how R18 activities can show up well at Kiwiburn, protect participants and the broader community, and support the ongoing viability of sex-positive spaces for years to come.
So join us from the comfort of your couch here on 15 Jan at 8pm!
