The Depot is our community information centre. Buy a bag of ice; check for lost valuables; check the Paddock map; find out the latest news; bring us your gossip; sign up for a volunteer shift. Any questions? We might know the answer, or potentially make one up.
Each 3kg bag of ice costs $5. We take CASH ONLY for the ice – we will happily accept schmacks and/or high-fives if you’re after anything else!
We only have a limited float, so don’t be offended if we ask you to come back later when we’ve got more change. We won’t run out of ice in the meantime, we promise!
This year, we’re also launching our KOHA ICE initiative! Basically, if you want to be generous and pay for an extra bag for a member of the Kiwiburn community chosen by us, let us know. To claim a bag, you’ll need to come up with a wild and wacky, over-the-top, inventive reason for why you need the bag and what you’re planning on doing with it once you’ve got it. (NB: “I heard it was free” is NOT an acceptable reason.) Bonus points for making us laugh…but believe us, we can be pretty judgey!
Another new thing we’re doing this year in association with Camp Raglan is USED ICE BAG RECYCLING! We’ll have a container for all your used ice bags, which will be recycled into fence posts by the Packaging Forum.
We’re open from 10am-5pm Wednesday-Sunday, and 10am-2pm on Monday. Look for us in the northwest corner of Temple Field, opposite the Centre Camp and Artery.
