A fantastical amazing journey has almost come to an end for The Giant Weta and the Auckland Burners team who created her! She was welcomed to her new home in the Waiararapa, in the most lush and beautiful site imaginable at Pūkaha, National Wildlife Centre. A small team travelled from Auckland to install her for one last time, and the team at Pūkaha are excited by the generous gift. Once the landscaping and signage are finished, there will be a blessing. She is the first scultpure at the Centre and fits in beautifully with the flora and fauna, as well as offering a unique way of helping educate the public about the endangered Wētāpunga.
