The Great Depot Caper 2026

Jan 12, 2026

Yo! It’s K-Bar, your friendly Depot Onsite Lead and Emperor Penguin here, and I’m about to tell you what’s up with the Depot for KB26.

First of all, ice sales. Ice is sold in standard 3kg party bags, and it will cost you $6 per bag. That’s CASH ONLY. Money. Dollars and cents. No eftpos, credit cards, paywave, Google or Apple Pay, barter, bitcoins, spankbux, schmacks, or any other currency will be accepted. If you come to us wanting ice and waving an eftpos card, we will laugh at you. A lot.

You will be able to pre-pay for ice, but only during the event while the Depot is open. (This is not an invitation to slide into my DMs and offer me money. No, honest, it’s not. Please stop.)

Just rock on up between the hours of 10am-5pm from Wednesday to Sunday, or 10am-2pm on Monday, and place your order. You’ll need to state your name and theme camp (if you have one). You can choose to take one or more of the bags you’ve just paid for and leave the rest for next time, or not. If you’re just buying ice for now and not pre-ordering, you don’t even need to give us your name! Just your sweet, sweet cash. (NB: we will also be open on Tuesday before the burn begins for ice sales to crew and registered theme camps who are onsite at that point.)

Theme camps can also pre-order ice! Each theme camp should have a Registered Ice Picker- Upper who will be solely responsible for picking the ice up for their camp. You’ll need to give us your name, theme camp, and payment up front. When you come to pick up your camp’s ice, let the friendly penguin behind the counter know that you’re picking up camp ice.

Remember, ice pre-orders are made at your own risk and we don’t offer refunds on uncollected bags. Therefore, we ask that you don’t order huge amounts of ice unless you’re planning on collecting it right then and there.

The Depot is not just an ice shop though! We’re also your information point during the event. Come down and see us, pick up or dish the latest goss, sign up as a volunteer for something, or tell us your best dad joke!

Lost and found: You can hand in small, valuable lost and found items to us. Wallets, IDs, phones, jewellery, watches, re-usable vapes (not disposables!) prescription glasses (not $2 shop sunnies!), and fire toys are acceptable. Clothing and large items like chairs or umbrellas are not. If you’ve lost something small and valuable, we should always be your first port of call. We’ll also have things like toothbrushes, tent pegs, tampons (but you should also check the menstruation station) and other things that don’t start with T.

We’re also offering ice bag recycling and nang recycling right throughout the event until 3pm on Monday. And we’ve got an event on Friday afternoon for all Depot volunteers, past, present, and future, to have a bit of a reunion and meet-and-greet. Check your event guide for details!

And and and and… we’re collecting monetary and unopened non-perishable donations for Leftover Love to benefit local foodbanks! Feed the piggy. The piggy hungers.
