Back in May, we announced the Theme for KB26 and opened up the Poster Design Competition. As always, the entries did not disappoint! The creativity was fierce, the talent undeniable, and we definitely didn’t envy the KAC having to choose just one design. While every Artist who entered is a winner in our eyes, there can only be one official champion this year.
Without further ado… massive congrats to Izzy Kirkpatrick, the Artist behind the winning Poster design!
Here’s what Izzy had to say about the inspiration behind the Art:
When we embrace, our hearts are aligned. When we join hands, we create connections that travel through us. When we support each other, dance together, and work with one another, that work is filled with each and every one of our hearts. We create works of art, tapestries and gestures and marks that cannot be seen, but bind us together and carry us forward through life. We make these works of art every day of our lives.
The greatest work of art can never be contained by a frame. We look up into the sky and see billions of stars, each a tiny fire, dancing in constellations with each other. We look to each other and see we are all made of star stuff. We look within ourselves and see the fire in our hearts.
The fire is always within us. The greatest work is in us.
In your heart, in my heart. Our works of heart.
Huge thanks to Izzy, and to everyone who entered and shared their creativity. All Poster entries will be displayed on the Paddock this year – so keep your eyes peeled and soak up the Art!
