Ever been roaming the not-so-mean streets of Kiwiburn and thought, I’ve got a waaaay better idea for Kiwiburn’s site layout? Well, now is your chance to turn those ideas into reality! Kiwiburn needs a passionate and creative Town Planner Lead ASAP.
This role is not for the faint of heart. You’ll be leading the team that’s responsible for planning, designing, and implementing the layout of the Kiwiburn site – Theme Camps, Art, general camping, and road names. This is a role that comes with great responsibility and needs someone with prior Burn experience who has strong organisational skills and can communicate and work well with other departments and stakeholders. The Town Planner Lead will need to have design and mapping skills with tenacious attention to detail, GIS knowledge (or a strong IT background and willing to undertake some training), and solid project management skills.
You’ll need to be able to commit to at least one hour per week from August to September, increasing to 3ish hours a week until December, with a peak of 4-5 consecutive days in early January. As Town Planner Lead, you’ll be needed onsite two days before the event and one day after for packdown, plus a few hours to piece together an Afterburn report.
You can check out the full job description here, and if you think you’ve got what it takes for this incredibly important and oh-so rewarding role, get your application in here. It goes without saying, this role comes with an allocated ticket to the Burn!
