Kiwiburn needs a Treasurer. A real one. A willing one. Hopefully you.
All the magic you see out there on the Paddock still runs on very un-magical things like budgets, invoices, and making sure the bills get paid. That’s what this role looks after. You’d be working with the Finance Team to keep track of money coming in and out, and making sure everything stays above board and ticking along nicely.
There’s some bigger picture stuff too. Helping shape the yearly budget, keeping an eye on cashflow, and working with teams as they figure out what they want to build or bring. A lot of it is just having conversations and helping people land somewhere realistic without harshing anyone’s mellow.
You’d be part of ExCom, so you’re in the mix on wider decisions about how Kiwiburn runs and where it’s heading. There’s also a Treasurer 2iC and a small team around you, so you’re not doing it solo.
Time-wise, it’s a few hours most weeks. More when things ramp up, less when they don’t.
You don’t need to be a professional accountant, but you do need to be comfortable with numbers, budgets, and not-for-profit finances. If you’ve used Xero or done GST before, even better.
