The silly season is over, a new year has begun, Kiwiburn is coming up soon and the future’s looking bright!
Yet there’s some who may not be doing too well right now. With Kiwiburn 2025 inching ever closer, there’s a particular group of humans who have a pretty dim future just over the horizon.
Who are these humans who are doing it so tough? Yes, of course, we are talking about those who identify as Disk Jockeys, or DJs. With DJs now being a dime a dozen at Kiwiburn, the grim realisation has set in that there just isn’t enough room for all of them. Despite constant shoutouts on Facebook, more DJ booths than ever before and even some begging for DJ slots, there are simply too many DJs attending Kiwiburn 2025. They’ll have to attend as a *gulp* regular Burner. We are living in truly tragic times.
With so many DJs going ‘setless’ at Kiwiburn this year, we thought it only right that we (The 7 of us who don’t identify as DJs that is) help them out. Speaking to some of these DJs, they told us they spent a whole hour learning how to plug their USB into the decks, so it’s time they get some recognition for that. Alas, we’re starting a new program – Sponsor a DJ!
This new program aims to help alleviate the pressures of all those suffering from being ‘setless’ this year. Sponsorship can be offered individually, or we are taking expressions of interest from any Theme Camps who are feeling particularly generous this year. After all, it’s DJs who make Theme Camps worth visiting, or so we are told anyway!
Look out for the list of the DJs available to sponsor soon. Upon release you’ll be able to choose which of these poor, ailing souls you’d like to sponsor. Please, be kind, think of the DJs this year!
Please note – there is no money involved in this program, DJs will be sponsored via a mustard based economy (we hear it’s overtaken MacBook chargers as the chosen currency of the Paddock).
