Paddock Conditions
- Driveway – As always the road/driveway into the site is bumpy and dusty, so please take it easy, there’s no rush to make it down the hill!
- The River – Due to the rain we had last week, the river has been fast flowing, dirty, and hiding some downed trees. While it is starting to clear up, it’s still not quite the pristine waters that you may have experienced in the past. So please take care while swimming, swim with a buddy and NO swimming past dark/9pm. Please do not take risks, we have had people swept out into the current before, so don’t be the next unlucky human to experience this! Even strong swimmers can be caught off guard. The swimming hole on the right is currently more dangerous than the rapid section on the left so please head to the left instead. Follow all signs and use caution as always! We are expecting more rain later this week so the river conditions may change, so look out for any more signage/updates.
- Weather – We have had a range of different weather conditions over the build period, and you can expect even more varied weather conditions during the event. As above, we are even set to get rain closer to the end of the week, along with cool/cold days/nights, so prepare for this by bringing appropriate clothing (warm clothes, wet weather gear, and your trusty gumboots!). As always, practice radical self reliance and bring everything you could need!
- Driving on the Paddock – Please drive slooooowly! There are many fellow humans travelling around the Paddock on their hind legs, and bipedal beasts do not fare well against heavy metal vehicles, so please stick to the 10km/h speed limit. Be warned – Site Office staff WILL hunt you down if you speed, and trust us when we say, you do not want this to happen!
