The Burning Man Regional Network is a whole 25 years old and at its pre-COVID height, covered 108 events worldwide (down to 78 in 2022!). To celebrate the quarter century, a project called “25toThrive” is looking at the Regional Network’s 25 year history and where the community feels the Regional Network should head in the coming 25 years.
As part of this undertaking, the Afterburn Reports for all these 78 events which took place in 2022 have been combined for the first time ever for a picture of the world wide shape of Burning Man. The summary of this is available publicly (2022Regional Events Afterburn Summary) and contains some crunchy statistics and interesting findings about the shape of our community – 80,000 attendees in total! A third of the Burns were brand new in 2022! Average number of Theme Camps is 28 (Kiwiburn did not take place in 2022, we would have lifted that average significantly!).
If you really want to get your teeth into the review, the Zoom recording of the presentation of this report is also available to watch here:
