Burners of New Zealand and Australia (BoNZA) is community in action, a support enterprise and rallying point for the New Zealand and Australian Burner communities and their organisations.

Collaborating with Burning Man Regional Contacts, Burner event organisations across New Zealand, Australia and Asia – not only official Regional Events – and benefactors, the annual mid-year Leadership Summit is produced.

Committed to fostering Burner culture through participation, education and collaboration, BoNZA brings together a passionate group of Burners to share experiences and experience, procedures and processes, ideas and ideology, skills and skillsets, data and documentation. A space where questions are encouraged and many are answered.

The annual BWB BoNZA Civic Ignition Grant

Every year at BoNZA there is a collaboration with Burners Without Borders (BWB), a volunteer-driven, community leadership program of the Burning Man Project aimed at funding innovative community and civic projects within the greater Australia and New Zealand regions.

BWB is interested in programs that create collaborations, produce direct actions, utilise several of the 10 Burning Man Principles, are reproducible, and creatively tackle local social problems. This grant gives anyone the opportunity to submit a collaborative, creative, and principle-focused project with a chance to win up to a US$1,500 grant.

BoNZAAR is an acronym for Burners of New Zealand, Australia and Asia Regionals. An eclectic bunch of misfits, oddballs, and passionate Burners in conversation, for a show which examines and promotes Burner culture, its evolving communities, and the people that make the experience and events magical.

Presenting community voices that showcase the amazingly unique and remarkable Burner experience and Burner culture of New Zealand, Australia, Asia and surrounds. BoNZAAR recognises podcasting as a communication for future generations to understand about the world and times we are experiencing.
