Welcome to the newest member of $exCom, Ryan! He’s taken up the role of Wellbeing Facilitator. We’re stoked to have Ryan onboard and what better way to welcome him by asking him to spill the beans on who he is in the EFP. So, without further ado, here’s Ryan’s intro!
Tell us about yourself!
I’m 32 and can’t keep still. What makes me happy is supporting and working alongside others to create magic. I currently live in Cambridge though spend a lot of my time in the King Country which is where my heart calls home.
What does the Wellbeing Facilitator role involve?
The Wellbeing Facilitator is an ExCom role that supports the internal and external teams and agencies that ultimately help each of us have a wonderful and safe burn. This includes the Black Sheep Rangers, The Sanctuary, Know Your stuff, Consent Club, Medics crew. I’m really excited to work with all of them!
How do you spend your time when you are not doing things related to Kiwiburn?
When I’m not on the Paddock you’ll find me in a different paddock. Alongside my partner, I train and breed horses as well as run a farm. If I’m not there I’ll be dangling from some aerial silks or hanging with my Snuggery family.
Being involved with Kiwiburn can take a lot of energy. How do you re-energise?
Following my passions is key for me, if I’m living heart led I find energy in everything I do. I love making clothes, hiking and engaging in personal growth spaces. But trash TV and cuddles on the bed with my three dogs and partner is a well formed ritual.
What has been your favourite moment at a Burn?
There are too many to choose from. One springs to mind while waiting to run round the effigy at my second burn – A moment of pure appreciation and gratitude for my body. I may not yet be at a place where I love every aspect of myself all of the time, but damn it, it allows me to do some amazing things!
What are you most excited about for Kiwiburn 2024?
All of you and the amazing gifts we all bring to co-create this magical event.
