You may remember reading last week that our Infrastructure Facilitator, Floyd, has sidestepped into the role of Town Planning Lead. But fear not! He hasn’t left the Infrastructure Teams leaderless. Floyd has passed the torch on to Bob. Everyone, meet Bob!
Firstly, what does the Infrastructure Facilitator role involve?
We have 5 teams in Infrastructure and the Infrastructure Facilitator, with the support of a 2iC and a 3iC, wrangles them, supports them and if needed fights has robust discussions with other teams for them.
How do you spend your time when you are not doing things related to Kiwiburn?
I like to build things with wood and metal. I manage a team of 14 in the computer industry.
Being involved with Kiwiburn can take a lot of energy. How do you re-energise?
In the past I have done Tai Chi (28 years) but recently it has been tending the orchard and gardens.
Do you have a favourite Burn outfit?
Not really but most of them include a hydration pack.
What skills have you learned by being involved with Kiwiburn?
I was always accepting of people, I think Kiwiburn has improved that by exposure to the Kiwiburn Family.
What has been your favourite moment at a Burn?
My first Temple Burn.
What are you most excited about for Kiwiburn 2025?
Being on the Paddock and reconnecting with my Burner Family.
