Kiwiburn is a community not a company – this means YOU ARE Kiwiburn, and right now Kiwiburn needs people to volunteer for all sorts of jobs big and small. There are four key roles which are the bare minimum needed for Kiwiburn 2017 to go ahead:
- Administration Team Lead
- Operations Manager
- Purchasing Officer
- Volunteer Engagement Coordinator
More info on these jobs and others, here.
We are not joking. This is the final chance to fill these roles and make Kiwiburn happen next year. Last month we put the call out for volunteers, and some of you put your hand up – thank you, you guys are awesome! Sadly, it has not been enough to ensure a safe, well organised event can happen next year.
We also need more site manager shifts filled, people willing to work in the volunteer coordination team, a couple of people with accounting / bookkeeping experience to lend a hand in the finance team, and someone to help organise insurance in the admin team. We are also looking for at least two more ExCom members – these people should preferably have regular internet availability, policy or process experience, and preferably a solid history as a Kiwiburner. And if you love project management then we’d love to hear from you!
Remember, many of these jobs could be SHARED between two or more people.
All these roles are vital to the organisation and running of the event. They create and maintain the infrastructure of Kiwiburn, and do the things year-round that allows our one week in the Paddock to be such a beautiful experience. Quite simply, no background volunteers = no Paddock. Here is what our year-round volunteer structure looks like – where do you fit?
Kiwiburn is a volunteer driven community and not enough of you have stepped up. If we want Kiwiburn to go ahead next year, we need to fill at least the four key roles. The decision will be made early September, and it will depend entirely on whether we have enough volunteers to make it work.
Will Kiwiburn 2017 happen? The ball is in your court.
