Kia ora Kiwiburn whānau!
He aha te mea nui o te ao
He tangata, he tangata, he tangata
What is the most important thing in the world?
It is the people, it is the people, it is the people.
The Greeters volunteer drive is officially underway! For Kiwiburn 23, Greeters have a very special role to play welcoming our wonderful community back to our little slice of paradise on the Paddock.
Some of the after action reports coming from the Playa this year suggest the sense of community felt damaged; participants felt like their connection to each other and to the spirit of the Burn had been dulled by two years of isolation coupled with trying to survive in a world rocked by conflict and sickness.
As Greeters, the first faces of Kiwiburn (well, Ok, second after Gate), we’re being called on to remind participants to put a little extra effort into overcoming that distance – to reconnect with each other and to help others reconnect. This year, we’re more than just the welcoming party, we’re the first line in helping our community heal and remember the vision and Principles we all share that make Kiwiburn what it is.
With that said, we’re looking for lovers, friends, family, Principle nerds, and creatures overflowing with aroha to share with everyone that comes through the gate. We need you on our team! Apply now!
