The Kiwiburn Art Department held a gathering for many of our volunteers on 17th and18th May in Auckland. It was a vibrant and collaborative gathering focused on Afterburn reflection, refining systems, supporting artists, and strengthening our team structure.
Key outcomes included streamlining grant and registration processes, IT systems, artist support, communications, team roles, uplifting policies and procedures. Other important considerations included accessibility, sustainability, and artist mentoring.
With an emphasis on ensuring great experiences for artists and our volunteers, this gathering has helped us enormously towards a more cohesive and empowered team to support art of all kinds at Kiwiburn 2026.
