It’s been a great year for Art Grant applications, and the team has been busily beavering away behind the scenes to allocate funds for all of your creative ideas and thoughts to come to life. There were 18 Small Grants (under $500) and five Large Grants (over $500) handed out this year. Clearly the community is gearing up for some of the most impressive and artistic creations to grace the Paddock yet.
To whet your appetite, here are some snippets of amaze-balls stuff that’ll tickle your eyeballs, intrigue your eardrums and bamboozle your noggin on the Paddock in 2020:
- You’ll be body-painting suspended artichokes using kitchen waste while pedaling on a kinetic scavenger hunt powering a movie.
- You’ll go past the giant ant and the faery grove, past the fire blooming into the sky, past ping-pongy Tron and through the tunnel to reach the oil paradigm reflecting in the angels wings.
- You’ll count down to Effigy costumes with interactive light art, reflecting on burner culture while whirling away dervishly, enter the black box via the glitch in the matrix and follow the angler fish and glow of the electric lamps to the sauna by the river.
