The Burning Man Regional Network team are looking for a Regional Contact (RC) in New Zealand, to work in tandem with Pete Wyatt (aka Lumos) to help foster the Burning Man community in Aotearoa. This could be you!
The New Zealand Burner community is large, thriving, and increasingly diverse. It needs more hands to do the work involved, and would benefit from more diverse representation.
Regional Contacts volunteer year-round to empower and nurture community initiatives and facilitate communication with the global Burning Man Regional Network and between their various community groups.
The ideal candidate will have a history of engaged participation in Kiwiburn. Bonus points if you have skills in social media, and an interest in civic work and community outreach. Burning Man is however also open to hearing from those with other skills and experiences, even if you don’t think you’d meet the “ideal candidate” definition!
If you’d like to apply to be a new New Zealand Regional Contact, please complete BOTH of the steps below by midnight of Saturday, 10 October:
- Send a self-nomination letter to email@example.com with “New Zealand” in the subject line.
- Create a Burning Man Burner Profile (profiles.burningman.org) (or use your existing one) and complete the Volunteer Questionnaire. [Scroll down to ‘Volunteer’ > Volunteer Questionnaire > Volunteer Teams section, check the ‘Regional Contacts’ box > fill out the ‘Regionals’ section > fill out ‘Yes, I’d like to answer questions about my skills and personal interests’ section.]
After self-nominations close, Burning Man will send out a feedback survey to gather community input and experiences with candidates. Official interviews will be held in November – this is a serious role and you will be an important link in the global Burning Man network!
The Burning Man Regional Network team is looking forward to hearing from you!
