As part of the Kiwiburn external relations program we have been working with Rangitikei District Council, Hunterville Community Committee, and other local community groups to have Kiwiburn assist with, and participate in, local activities such as Shepherds’ Shemozzle, Marton Market Day, Harvest Festival and similar, plus we are also working on Public Art opportunities (more to come on that later).
Having undertaken some initial trials we are expanding and creating a Rangitikei centered Community Engagement Team (ComET) as part of the “External Relations” operation of Kiwiburn, this will comprise Kiwiburner volunteers willing to gift their time to local Rangitikei community events.
Note the amount of time these volunteers provide will be completely flexible. It may be just a one time thing, or more, depending entirely upon the volunteer’s availability. By signing up to register your interest you are not making any commitment, instead you are simply registering that you wish to be contacted if opportunities to engage with the Rangitikei Community arise.
So if you are a fire artist, juggler, acrobat, face painter, musician, or support crew to set up events, and are based near to Rangitikei, or are willing to travel there, and would like to participate in Rangitikei events please let the Chair of Kiwiburn know either by completing this Registration of Interest form or by email if you prefer ( chair@kiwiburn.com ). Once you are registered we can let you know about upcoming opportunities.
Note: while a few opportunities may have some reimbursement of costs, the purpose of this is initiative is for Kiwiburn to give back to the local community that has accepted and supported us for the past 11 years, by assisting local groups with their own community events and not for profit fundraising ventures i.e. Gifting of your service and support (sound familiar, just might be one of the Principles)
