NEWS! Real, relates to Kiwiburn, NEWS, from us to you. Turns out, rewriting a constitution takes a bit more than one spicy Facebook thread, so we’re officially moving into Phase Two of Kiwiburn’s constitutional reform process.
Here’s what happens over the next few months (good things take time).
- From now: Jump into the dedicated Discord channel (handily called ‘Constitutional reform suggestions’) to suggest ideas, raise concerns, and argue passionately about governance structures. If you’re not already in the Discord, you can join using this link.
- July: We’ll hold a hui to discuss the ideas that come through.
- August: The first draft of the updated constitution will be presented.
- September & October: Another hui, more feedback, and revisions to make sure we land somewhere as agreeable as possible.
- November: We’ll hold a Special General Meeting (SGM) where members (that’s you!) can vote on the final constitution.
This is the part where general vibes get turned into actual words which will actually be written down and enacted, which means your input matters now more than ever.
If you’ve got thoughts on how Kiwiburn should be structured, governed, or protected for the future, get involved! This is our community, we want as many voices as possible contributing to the final result.
Democracy: Is messy, occasionally bordering on tedious, but ultimately our best bet for a happy community.
If this doesn’t work, we have a Plan B that just reads: “All disputes shall be settled through combative fire dancing.”
