Kiwiburn is looking for Event Manager 2ICs
Do you have experience in event management or operations? Are you interested in up-skilling your event skills and learning to balance the multiple moving parts that is festival management?
I’m Kali, the Event Manager for Kiwiburn 2020. I want some 2ICs to train up as I’m stepping down after the next event. Ideally, you would commit to the role long term; however, I understand it may seem like a biiiiiig level of responsibility, so I’m taking a different approach. I want to up-skill as many people as possible at the 2020 event, even if those people do not have previous experience or cannot commit to the role in future.
My role is year-round, sitting on the ExCom and coordinating the onsite teams. It grows during build when I am onsite helping things run smoothly and then I function as a Site Manager during the Burn. There are so many different facets to this role, and different areas of interest depending on your interest and availability. The position required 1 1/2 hours per week, and at some times of the year (special projects), it could increase to up to 10 hours per week, though I am looking to spread the load with the team.
It takes a very certain type of person to manage an event, so I will need to have a chat with you to ensure we are on the same page, so if you’re intrigued, and really interested in what it takes to manage events, I would love to hear from you. Email me at eventmanager@kiwiburn.com with your details, any experience and areas of interest, then we can book a time to talk further. For the right person, there may be a ticket available, but remember that the intention for this is to be a year-round ExCom role, so if you’re just after a ticket, this isn’t for you.
I am keen to see the community step up and learn about what it actually takes to make this event happen. Do you want to be part of making the magic happen at Kiwiburn 2020? Apply now!
