Coming to Kiwiburn 2024? Then be sure to read this important info regarding entry to the event!
Gate hours remain the same this year; however the first hour of Wednesday 24th (8-9am) will be dedicated to express entry only. This means Theme Camps, artists, and volunteers that could not get early entry but have express entry against their name.
The express entry (formerly known as fast lane) will still be available throughout Wednesday, but on top of this we will also dedicate the first hour to only processing participants with express entry.
This will be checked when Gate crew are checking tickets – if participants do not have this, they will be sent off site or into a naughty paddock to wait at the leisure of whenever Gate feel like checking them back in – and you could be waiting a while.
For volunteers – express entry will be given to those who have shifts Wednesday and weren’t allocated Tuesday early entry. Information on express entry for Theme Camp members and artists is still to come. Look out for more info on that soon!
Moving onto traffic management: If you’ve been to Kiwiburn before, you’ll know that a road closure is in place pre gate opening hours. This year, the road closure will now be at the intersection of Cooks Road and SH54. This means no entry into Cooks Road whatsoever unless you have Tuesday early entry (or earlier) and arrive before Gate closes. The road will open once Gate is open, but keep in mind that the first hour is for express entry participants only.
This means no parking on the sides of the highway waiting for the Gate to open!! We do this for a reason – road safety for other road users, and ensuring we do not cause bottlenecks or delays for local residents and all other road users. Traffic issues (along with noise complaints) are the two issues that are the biggest factors in impacting our ability to run the event in the future. Adhering to the traffic plan ensures Kiwiburn can continue going!
