The Hub, our community space to learn things, share things, and get weird with things has a plethora of Events lined up for Kiwiburn 25 and we want to share them with YOU! Over the next few weeks we’ll be giving y’all a sneak peek at what’s to come – check it out! Here’s Fridays’ events:
- Earth Breath – FRI 11am, Centre Camp
Tune in to the energy of the earth with your breath in this movement meditation workshop. Earth breath is influenced by taoist meditation, chi kung and contemporary mindfulness practices. Breathe in energy from the great mother, breathe out and let go of resistance to your somatic embodiment.
- Science Night! (but day vibes) – FRI 12pm, Centre Camp
Join us at Centre Camp for a fascinating two hours of quick-fire talks from passionate scientists followed by Q&A sessions! Presentations that cover a wide range of fascinating science subjects. Whether you’re a science enthusiast or just curious about the world around you, this is your chance to connect with experts and explore the mind-blowing world of science in true Kiwiburn style.
- Trash flower and mushroom crowns – FRI 1pm, Artery
Become the Trash Royalty you’ve always dreamed of! Please bring your own coloured plastic bottles and egg cartons!
- Doof Sticks – FRI 3pm, Centre Camp
Never get lost in the dark again! Make your own unique doof stick so that you can be identified anywhere across the paddock. Limited lights and other supplies will be available. We encourage you to bring along any materials that inspire you.
- Fireside Chats 2025 series – Hui #1 – FRI 4pm, Centre Camp
The first Fireside Chat for 2025. The CommuniTeam will be hosting our first Fireside Chat of 2025 on Paddock. Our suggestion box from our ‘Meet Your CommuniTeam’ open session will be mined to find a few kaupapa to discuss with the Community to take temperatures on some of the issues they feel are important. Note: Not actually beside a fire.
- Wearable Art Showcase – FRI 6pm, Centre Camp
Trash Renaissance Fair Wearable Art Showcase!! See the fabulous creations or walk the catwalk yourself. Prepare to be amazed!
- Naked Rave – FRI 10pm, Centre Camp
Dress down and groove to some tunes as the clock strikes midnight! Accessories? Yes, please! Dress to a level you’re comfortable. BYOBS (Bring-your-own-birthday-suit).
