We are doing some major renos on the Paddock, dontcha know: we are making a new crew yard which will have better access, more space, more shelter, better emergency access, and the potential for tapping into the national power grid in the future. All for the win!
At the end of March, we had a working bee to clean-out an old gravel storage pit. Then in August, our Infrastructure Facilitator Floyd popped in over 100 trees and broke his pick on the stoney ground. These trees will grow up to provide visual, wind and sun shelter for the crew yard.
Want to get involved? We are planning another working bee in November, to move the storage containers to the new yard. The containers will be water blasted, rust treated where necessary and repainted. If you wanna help, go to the volunteer form for MPW – or apply for the MPW 2iC position (and get a ticket to Kiwiburn while you’re at it!).
