Wow – what a ride. While most of us wandered off into the sunset a week ago (muddy, happy, and slightly feral), a heroic handful of humans were still out there lovingly packing down the very last bits of on-site infrastructure. And now, at long last, we can officially say Kiwiburn 2026: A Work of HeArt has wrapped. Deep breaths. Group hug. What the heck just happened?!
33 Art Installations, 66 Theme Camps, many rainbows, some even double! This year’s Burn has earned the name RainbowBurn! Yes, we had some rain – not nearly as much as MudBurn – and you can’t have rainbows without some rain. Spirits were high and the puddle stomping game was strong. Bananas were dancing, fruit was stolen (accidentally), and then returned! Stickers were collected, Art was created, friendships were made, and boogies were had.
Don’t forget to check out the Kiwiburn Instagram and tag the Kiwiburn account with your uploads. While we’re on the subject, a gentle reminder to please only upload photos with people in them if they have expressly consented to it. Some people may consent to a photo but not the upload on social media. Online life and offline life are very separate for some members of the community and want to keep it that way so please be mindful of photos. If you blur people or crop, please blur or crop full bodies so people are not recognisable.
We hope you had as magical a time as we did. And now that you’re (hopefully) mostly recovered and back among the civilians, why not channel all that fresh inspiration into your next big idea? Kiwiburn 2027 is calling. Dream up an Art piece, start or join a Theme Camp, or take the plunge into a year-round volunteer role (trust us – it’s the best way to keep the magic alive all year). Until then… bring on Kiwiburn 2027! Love you!
