Kiwiburners, our wiggly worm friends need your food scraps—but only the right kind! The worm farm will be open for drop-offs 12–3pm, Thursday to Sunday, at Compost Alley (near the loos in the Centre Paddock). Stick to these rules to keep things running smoothly:
When to Drop Off:
Only during designated hours. No sneaky scraps after hours! Unapproved drop-offs create health and safety risks and may result in future collections getting the boot. Let’s not ruin it for everyone.
Follow the Traffic Light System:
- Green Light ✅: Fruit, veggies, coffee grounds – small, vegan-friendly scraps are perfect!
- Orange Light ⚠️: Citrus, bread – OK in small doses.
- Red Light 🚫: Meat, oils, large chunks, spices, seafood – absolutely not!
Extra Tips:
Scraps should be smaller than a 50p coin, and biodegradable packaging isn’t worm-friendly (it needs heat to break down). Stick to natural scraps only.
Help us keep the worms happy, reduce waste, and make Kiwiburn greener. Your efforts create a thriving compost system—let’s wriggle toward a sustainable future together!
