In between extreme weather events, global computer snafus and the ongoing dumpster fire that is the US of A, we thought we’d stop and ask ourselves, ‘What’s happening out there in the Burnerverse?’ Read on for some tasty snippets about Burns around the world.
Burning Man: The one month countdown to Burning Man 2024 is ON! After last year’s mud-filled Burn made headlines for all sorts of reasons, this year’s theme Curiouser and Curiouser is sure to be a party of special magnificence. In their own words, Burning Man 2024 ‘celebrates puzzles without answers, embraces the irrational and the absurd, and invites the unknown over for tea’

Afrikaburn: Only wrapped up a few months ago, but we know a few kiwis made it out there and kicked up the dust in humanity’s homeland. We’d love to hear from anybody who was there and wants to share their experiences! Afrikaburn’s 2025 theme has been announced as Out of the Blue. Which takes inspiration from an ancient myth of creation : In the beginning, everything existed as one in an ever-flowing expression of the force of creation – the great Primordial Ocean of life. While this ocean of energy danced, one of the droplets became aware of itself, and finding itself separate from the vastness, everything changed. Out of the Great Waters came Mantis, the great being known by the old people as /Kaggen. (taken from Afrikaburn’s website). With the theme banner promising ‘more FIRE, more DUST!’ it’s sure to be a bright blue bounty of brilliance!
Nowhere: Spain’s regional Burn supposedly took place on July 2nd-7th. We’d love to give a bit of a summary of events on how the Spaniards burned this year, but there’s been radio silence on their website since then! We can only assume the party was so good, they’re all still sleeping it off.
