While many Kiwiburn teams were taking a well-deserved break, the Kiwiburn Arts Committee (KAC) kept busy behind the scenes, making sure the creative magic of the festival continued to grow. Here’s a little recap of what we’ve been up to so far this year!
Trash Renaissance Fair – The Community Spoke!
For the first time ever, Kiwiburn’s theme was chosen by the community—and what a fantastic choice it was! We’re excited to announce the 2025 theme: Trash Renaissance Fair. With a mix of chaos, creativity, and the transformation of discarded objects into dazzling art, this theme will be the heart of the festival. Get ready to witness mediaeval meets modern in a beautifully upcycled celebration!
Poster Power
The Kiwiburn 2025 poster has officially been selected, and we couldn’t wait to share it with you all! Featuring bold designs and playful nods to this year’s theme, it’s already a hit among the Kiwiburn team.
Art Registrations Opened
Calling all creatives—art registrations opened, and the response was amazing! Artists from across the community have jumped at the chance to bring their wild, weird, and wonderful visions to life at Kiwiburn 2025. We can’t wait to see the spectacular pieces that will be on display.
KAC Summit: Where the Magic Happened
In July, the KAC crew came together for our annual weekend summit. It was a weekend packed with brainstorming, big decisions, and lots of coffee! We carefully reviewed an inspiring array of art grant applications and made the tough calls on which projects to fund and how much to allocate to each one. With the incredible projects that were chosen, we’re sure this year’s art will leave a lasting impression!
Meet & Greet: Artists United!
We also hosted a Zoom welcome night for our artists, bringing together both newcomers and seasoned creators. It was a wonderful chance for everyone to connect, share ideas, and ask questions. The talent and diversity of the group blew us away, and we know that the art this year will be nothing short of mind-blowing.
