Next year, the number of participants will be 1789, which is actually a bit of a legend of a number:
- It’s the year the French Revolution kicked off
- It’s the year George Washington became the first U.S. president
- Count Dracula would’ve been 488 that year
- 1789 is a prime number
- There are exactly 1789 wiggly sums that add up to 17 (1,789 different sequences of integers that add up to 17, and ‘wiggle’, meaning the numbers go up and down alternately – increase, decrease, increase… or vice versa)
