Constitutional Reregistration

Nov 25, 2025

As promised, we have some more news on the society reregistration for you, which is pretty darn important, so read all about it here:

Following up from the Reregistration Update in the 11th November edition of EFP, we are now about to kick off community engagement regarding the changes to the Constitution required to meet the new Incorporated Societies Act 2022 legislation before the reregistration deadline of April 5th 2026..

  • This reregistration exercise is simply to ensure Kiwiburn Inc’s continued existence as an Incorporated Society beyond KB26.
  • It is not a discussion or review of Kiwiburn’s governance or operational structures and any Constitution changes arising from that.
  • Any review of Kiwiburn’s structure will require widespread and inclusive discussions with the entire community and we will schedule that to take place after KB26.
  • For now we are asking for the Community’s input regarding only the initial Constitution amendments required for reregistration
  • We have scheduled two online Reregistration meetings to be held on Wednesday 10th December and Monday 15th December both commencing at 7pm.
  • Full details including meeting links, agenda, and supporting information will be issued in next week’s EFP,
  • In the interim here is a link to some summary information prepared by our Secretary outlining the amendments needed to comply with the new legislation.
  • Please also refer to the separate article in this week’s EFP from our Community Engagement Lead Shaz who will lead those online discussions.
