Maja Sagaser does not, technically, call herself an artist. But Burning Man does.
Headwaters, the NZ born project she’s leading with an all-girl crew, has received partial funding through a 2026 Burning Man Honoraria grant and is now growing from a Kiwiburn experiment into an installation bound for Black Rock City.
Before all that though, Headwaters was a sentence on a whiteboard.
