I’m Keri, Kiwiburn’s Site Safety Facilitator for the past 2 years. ExCom has just appointed me Acting Chair, to fill the gap left by Andy’s resignation. I’m joined by Ryan, Kiwiburn’s new Acting Treasurer.
We are still intending to open applications for a permanent Chair. However, first we’re evaluating whether the current structure is best for the future of Kiwiburn. As part of this mahi, the Chair role is likely to change. Applications will open after this process completes.
Planning for KB27 is already well underway. We’ve also heard the feedback — about trust, transparency, and how decisions get made. That feedback is valid, and addressing it is a priority.
We’re focusing on:
– Ensuring our structure sets Kiwiburn up for long-term sustainability
– Clearer channels for community feedback
– Better communication about decisions and direction
– Making it easier to understand volunteering opportunities, and how to get involved
