Behind the scenes: Meet Paul, your ExCom Arts Facilitator

Feb 15, 2021

Firstly, what does the Arts Facilitator role involve?

Don’t tell the rest of ExCom, but I think I have the best role! I am privileged to support teams looking after Artists, Art Grants, Theme Camps, Event Registrations, Burnable Art … think Effigy & Temple … I love creators so I’m very lucky. I hope to be the ear for artists and camps to support them and the community, bring the Burner principles to life, enjoy the mayhem together and grow. Culture & Art hand in hand.

How do you spend your time when you are not doing things related to Kiwiburn?

About to work this out for 2021 and beyond, any career advice accepted.

Being involved with Kiwiburn can take a lot of energy. How do you re-energise?

Gin, Fever Tree, 4x Ice, Mint, Lemon – and a hammock, minimum 24 degrees please.

Do you have a favourite burn outfit?

Nope simple needs, but after 2021 nights, I suspect more warm stuff

What skills have you learned by being involved with Kiwiburn?

Culture is so important, understanding our principles and incorporating them into everyday life is so rewarding. Those that share are angels.

What has been your favourite moment at a Burn?

Moment/s – Meeting several first time artists as they arrived at Kiwiburn and being amazed at the depth and quality of their contributions.  We have some really amazing contributors to our community and they are oh so humble.  Thanks to everyone that brings to the burn, it could be volunteering, Art, Theme Camps, or connections, reaching out and sharing with others is amazing.

Yes I get excited meeting creators.

Yes I enjoy seeing creators excited.

What are you most excited about for Kiwiburn

How we grow a community in the real world.

If I can listen, support or help in any way you know where I am artsfacilitator@kiwibrn.com
