K-Bar’s lost and found proposal – Feedback Wanted!

Jun 19, 2023

We would like your feedback on how to handle the Lost and Found items at Kiwiburn going forward!

For too long now our personal items have been going walkies and are never seen again. Despite our best efforts, the Paddock seems to become a vortex which causes lost items to evaporate faster than a warm Do-bro.

Are you sick of your stuff getting lost while you’re having a great ole time on site? Then trawling the Lost and Found Facebook page for weeks on end hoping you’ll get reunited with your priceless family heirloom/favourite sweater/3m braided white mini USB lead or large umbrella branded with a German car logos intertwining 4 rings (ok, maybe the last two are personal)?  So far, our Depot Lead K-Bar had always handled Lost and Found as part of Depot services with aplomb, but now it is time to sort this in a way that puts less strain on our beloved Depot crew, but also makes the system more efficient.

Step 1: Don’t bring valuable shit to site!

Step 2: If you fail at Step 1, keep an eye on your valuable shit.

Step 3: Help create a dedicated ‘Kiwiburn Lost Property’ service camp.

Following K-Bar’s proposal, the purpose of this camp would be to hold lost items and ensure that they are returned to their rightful owners, including the inevitable Facebook admin post event. It would be staffed with a few volunteers throughout the day, and would possibly work in tandem with the Depot, without being part of it. K-Bar also proposes that regular lost and found bulletins could be broadcast on Paddock radio and/or the daily news events that take place on the Paddock.

Kiwiburn are happy to support this enterprise with some infrastructure if needed as well, so now we would like to get the community’s input on this plan, so we’re asking what you think of it! You can read the full proposal here.

Once you have read it, come and give your feedback via this short survey here!
