Meet Baby A (a.k.a. The Destroyer!)

Nov 3, 2025

As part of our nefarious agenda, the DoP draws suckers in with the promise of joining the best team on – and off – the Paddock. And while we are absolutely telling the truth (would we ever lie to you?!) we might be omitting a very crucial piece of information… Once you’re in the DoP, it’s very hard to leave – not because we’re a cult or we shackle you and force you to churn out weekly propaganda, but because we’re an awesome team and you’ll never want to leave! So, without further ado, meet the latest DoP casualty, Baby A.

Tell us about your role in the DoP:
I am the new Propagandist on the team and I write some of the articles in the EFP newsletter helping to spread the word, the truth, and every once in a while something a little cheeky… For the plot of course.

What made you want to volunteer for a year round role? And what would you say to anyone considering it?
I have been to 5 Kiwiburns, 2 Burning Mans and a few other Burn adjacent festivals and I realised this past year that I had begun to question where I fit in. I’ve volunteered in a range of different roles, from the super important Sanctuary to the glorious Gate goblins, and loved them all but what was next?  I love creative writing, spreading information and creating connections and though I’m not sure I’m ready for the Art team, (yet) something about the DoP spoke to me. Making sure the community knows what’s going on, hyping people up, making that time between Kiwiburns not so… what’s the word for not being able to run naked around a fire whenever you want?
To someone considering a year round role, I would say embrace Immediacy. Give the volunteering roles a read and if any of them excite you or speak to you, even if you just think ‘hey, that sounds cool,’ apply. Give it a go because there is nothing like the warm fuzzies that you get from joining a team and being a part of something this magical.

When you’re not doing KB stuff, how do you spend your time?
I make ceramics! I have a small business called Littlefoot Creations and I find my flow on the pottery wheel. I also paint and crochet and I run a weekly pub quiz on Tuesday nights – if I were to take part in them instead I would crush the movies and entertainment round.

How did you get involved with Kiwiburn?
The same way so many members of this community got involved. A friend of a friend. My fiancé is an established Burner who had never been to Kiwiburn before but knew someone in the community. That gorgeous human introduced us to the wonderful Theme Camp that is Hookah Road and I’ve been hookah’d ever since. I couldn’t be more proud to call myself a Hookah Roadent.

What’s your favourite thing about being part of this amazing community?
The ability to be completely and totally myself, as weird and wonderful as that is, and to see other people realise that they can be too. The authenticity of the experiences I’ve had so far, and the people I have met have been life changing.

What’s your favourite Paddock moment?
I don’t think it’s possible to choose just one! Picklebacks, Ticklebacks and Nickleback with my brine brigade girls from Hookah Road, and art walks at night time through the forest to name a few.

What skills have you learned by being involved with Kiwiburn?
Immediacy! It’s something I’m still working on and I think I’m going to continue working on it for the rest of my life but the things that I have done when I said, “F***  it.” Thanks to Immediacy, I have done some of the scariest, dumbest and most wonderful things that have become core memories and have taught me the most about myself and what I am capable of.

What are you most excited about for Kiwiburn 2026?
To spend a week on a paddock with some of my favourite people in the entire world, without cell phone service. To be surrounded by art, love, creativity and passion and to hear a greeter say, “Welcome home” again.
