Ready for your 15 minutes of fame?

Apr 6, 2020

Designers, artists, creative folk! Do you have a spare hour or two of downtime at the mo’?. The Kiwiburn web team needs your help!

Our tech-savvy ferrets have finished beautifying the website’s rear end, the wordsmiths hath inscrib’d the pages, and now it’s time to make the front pop.

Whatever your creative talents, we’d love to harvest them:

  • Doodling in the margins
  • Designing a layout in Photoshop or Illustrator
  • Painting/sketching artwork to use as backgrounds
  • Drawing characters to illustrate important info
  • Making a flowchart to explain the complicated process of why we can’t “just sell more tickets”
  • Animating a giant squid who shimmies across the screen to the tune of Living on a Prayer and shoots a confetti cannon, and all the pieces of confetti are actually words, and they fall and land in the correct spots on the page
  • Using Microsoft Paint

All you need to do is choose a page on the website, and have a crack. You can print it and draw, screenshot it and Photoshop, or copy and paste the content into something else entirely.

If you want to draw some artwork to decorate a page, just scan it and email it through, or take a high-resolution picture.

The only rules are that the website header and the footer must stay the same. Everything in between is fair game.

We can’t promise that we’ll be able to translate all your amazing ideas into an on-screen reality, and any designs we receive will have to pass the scrutiny of our three caffeine-addicted kākāpō overlords, who’ll give it a ranking out of 13 (11.2 needed to pass). If it’s up to scratch, the aforementioned ferret-nerds will then take your design and convert it into a real live website page, with all the trimmings!

Keen? Maybe get in touch with the web team to discuss your ideas before you get too far, and to make sure no one else has chosen the same page.

And on offer is the deepest gratitude for helping to make our website the coolest thing since meggings. Whether you want to donate an hour or a day, we appreciate your effort. Hopefully we’ll end up with a mish-mash of styles and colours, making the website eclectic and unique, just like you!

If you’ve got any questions, email them to Brad (official assistant to The Kākāpō Three).
