By using this Service, creating a Burning Profile in order to purchase a Kiwiburn event ticket, subscribing as a member of Kiwiburn Incorporated directly, completing any form on the website, or completing a Kiwiburn Census survey, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

 

Information Collection And Use

We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you. It is required that we collect certain personal information in order for you to purchase a ticket to Kiwiburn’s annual ticketed event (Kiwiburn). In order to purchase a ticket, you will need to complete a series of questions in an online form to create a Burner Profile. We may also collect information from you when you respond to our annual Kiwiburn Census.

We will use reasonable endeavours to only collect information directly from you. By Disclosing the details of another person (for example, where you are subscribing on their behalf), you are confirming the person has authorised you to disclose their information to us and that it is your sole responsibility to ensure that that person understands and consents to the collection, use and disclosure of their personal information in the manner set out in this Policy.

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”). Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Email address
  • First name and last name as per legal identification
  • Nickname/Burner name
  • Phone number
  • Year of Birth or Age
  • Address, City/Region, Postal code

We may also collect information on how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, the referring page or website, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.

Tracking and Cookies Data

We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on our Service and hold certain information.

Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. The Service includes Social Media Features, such as the Facebook Like button. We do not disclose contact information about you publicly or to other third parties by us unless it is authorised or required by law (or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or to comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on us in relation to the Websites) or as otherwise outlined in this policy.

From time to time, we will also disclose your personal information (on a confidential basis) to agents and others that we use in the ordinary operation of our business, such as account, ticketing and billing, event promotion, user experience research and surveys, website hosting and support and maintenance.   • to our advisors for the purposes of conducting user experience analysis;
  • in the case of aggregated data from the Census, to Kiwiburn attendees for the purposes of education and improving user experience.

While we store the majority of the personal information that we collect from you in New Zealand, we may from time to time store some of the information in computer servers located in Europe and/or the United States. We will take such reasonable steps to ensure that the overseas recipient does not breach the New Zealand Privacy Principles.

 

Protecting and Maintaining Personal Information

We will take all reasonable steps to protect the information we hold about you from unauthorised access, use and disclosure, however we cannot guarantee that our systems and stored data will be completely free from third party interception or are free from corruption.

Certain parts of the Websites (such as those parts that require you to provide us with your credit card number) provides the ability for you to transmit information to our Websites in an encrypted form by using secure socket layer technology (SSL).

However, other parts of the Websites are not protected by any form of encryption to protect information you send from your computer to us over the Internet. Further, no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure. In light of this, we cannot ensure or warrant, and do not warrant, the security or privacy of your personal information, including payment and account details. Service Providers

If we do not agree that there are grounds for amendment, then we will add a note to the personal information stating that you disagree with it. You may also request that we delete the personal information that we hold about you. Please note that if we delete your contact information, we may not be able to provide you with the subscribed service.

If you request us not to use personal information in a particular manner or at all, we will adopt reasonable measures to observe your request but we may, to the extent permitted by law, still use or disclose your information if you subsequently consent to the disclosure or we believe the use or disclosure is reasonably necessary to assist a law enforcement agency or as otherwise required or authorised by law. If you click on a third party link, you will be directed to that third party’s site (this includes Kiwiburn’s ticketing provider Quicket and the associated payments processor Stripe for example). We have no control over and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

 

Children

We do not intend to collect personal data from children aged under 16. If you have reason to believe that a child under the age of 16 has provided personal data to us through our website and/or by using our services, contact us through privacypolicy@kiwiburn.com.

 

Changes To This Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our website.

We will let you know via email and/or a prominent notice on our Service, prior to the change becoming effective and update the “effective date” at the top of this Privacy Policy.
